It's badass overall. Has its weak moments such as the sustained uncritical use of the term soul as well as some rhetorical defaults, such as redundancy, over-explanation, and other items that are somewhat insulting to the audience. Those moments do not cancel the edifice of this novel otherwise. Much might be said about the particulars here, but will save them for madness' Reread project on the Second Apocalypse site.
